Are Chipped Teeth Bothering You? We Have A Great Solution
For Your Problem!
On These Sides You Experience All Necessary Over Tooth Crowns!
Dental crowns are actually caps that are used to remedy part
of the tooth, which has been in some way or other damaged. The
‘cap’ or ‘crown’ can be made of many
materials, such as porcelain, metal, ceramic and so on. The
materials you choose depend on you –
the dental surgeon in our Dental Clinic in Hungary will in this
connection gladly advise you.
1. Metal and gold crowns
The metal crown would be the first choice because
of its durability, in the first place. The metal caps also would
require much less procedural intervention as well as interference
with the natural teeth. The most common metals used for this purpose
are chromium alloy, gold alloy, nickel alloy and palladium. Among
these, the gold crown is the best choice because:
-
It is highly malleable and hence creates
a perfect fit with least effort
-
It lasts longest and gold is not known to
crack, get dented or chip hence, it will stay ‘as good
as new’ for life
-
The gold and the natural enamel have almost
the same hardness and hence, the gold would not be ‘worn
out’ even if the teeth would grind together.
2. Ceramic/Porcelain Crowns
This material is generally used for front teeth
where esthetics overcomes the need of utility and strength of
the caps. Since porcelain is the closest in looks to the natural
enamel, this is the first choice for teeth that are highly visible
during speaking or smiling. Often the porcelain cap is wrapped
over a metal cap for better durability. However, in the long run,
the porcelain may give way and the show the metal cap underneath
– and hence, the capping would need to be repeated. This
procedure is best when applied to the back teeth; the front teeth
would be better off if made with all porcelain crowns.
3. The Procedure For Crown
The procedure for applying the crown is quite
simple. First, the measurement for the crown is obtained, by removing
the damaged portions sufficiently to permit a good fit for the
cap. Often this affects even the surrounding teeth. As soon as
the surface is ready, the impression is taken and sent to a special
lab for processing. In the meantime, the patient would wear a
temporary crown that will prevent any further damage to the exposed
tooth. Once the crown is ready, this is fit neatly over the natural
tooth, which can be then used as a normal tooth. Initially, the
tooth may be sensitive to hot and cold substances but this is
a passing phase.
Overall, this procedure would give you a perfect set of teeth
in the shortest time possible, making you want to smile –
literally!
